Sisalril: «Si ya han pagado el anticipo, las ARS están obligadas a devolverlo»

Feris Iglesias: the TSS fund “cannot bear” giving more than 500 pesos

The entity responsible for the collection, distribution and payment of the financial resources of the Social Security System, the Social Security Treasury (TSS), “He can’t stand” giving more than 500 pesos for each consultation that the doctors make.

This was pointed out by the superintendent of Occupational Health and Risks, Jesús Feris Iglesias, who explained that the social security contributory regime is less than 50% of the population in the Dominican Republic, so the amount collected is not enough to satisfy the demands of sectors such as the Dominican Medical College (CMD), which is asking, among other demands, for an increase in the consultation fee.

«You cannot weigh more than what has been collected. And what has been collected must be divided between four organizations. Because one thing is what is demanded correctly and another is what can be offered at a given moment»the official asserted.

In this sense, Feris Iglesias assured that, after holding a meeting with all interested parties, as part of the commission created by the Government to find a solution to the issue, solutions will be sought in a phased manner.

“There is a whole promise that there will be a salary increase. Well, to the extent that there is a greater collection then it will be gradually delivering the demand that each group has »., said Feris Iglesias, who was interviewed on the program Rumbo de la Mañana, which is broadcast by Rumba, 98.5 FM. Although the owner clarified that the CMD requests cannot be “from today to tomorrow. We explain it to him.”

In that order, the head of Sisalril indicated that, after an analysis of the requests, a response will be given as far as possible.

It is recalled that several days ago the president of the Medical College, Senén Caba, stated that they remain expectant in the face of a possible solution to the crisis that has been generated for several months.

However, Caba warned that if an agreement was not reached, he would return to “the fight” with stoppages of hospital services.

Only a week ago there was a meeting in which the Government participated through the Ministry of Health, the National Social Security Council, the Ministry of Labor and the Superintendence of Health and Occupational Hazards.
