In nine years, the femicide index in Mexico has grown 101.7 percent, highlighted the Center for Studies for the achievement of gender equality of the Chamber of Deputies.
In the annual report of 2024, he informed that in that year 3 thousand 171 violent deaths of women were committed, of which 733 were cataloged as femicides and the rest as an malicious homicide, and that the average was nine killed every day.
As part of the registration, which is carried out from the official figures, the Studies Center stressed that in three months of 2024, historical maximums of victims were registered at the national level for four different crimes.
Thus, in May 27 thousand 499 complaints were reported for illicit related to family violence and 7,281 women victims of malicious injuries; In August, 643 crimes of gender violence in all its modalities, other than family violence; And in October, 200 women were victims of corruption of minors.
Regarding the national femicide trend, it included a graph of the rise of this crime, from the registration since 2015, the year in which 413 were committed. The following year, the figure rose to 607; in 2017, to 744; In 2018 to 899.
While in 2019 944 were reported, the following year were 947, and in 2021 the maximum of 982 was recorded. From 2021 a decrease began, since 961 femicides were committed; A year later, 833, and last year were 733. That is, he said, in those nine years 8,63 femicides were committed.

Meanwhile, the 911 emergency calls for crimes against women and minors total 13 million 789 thousand 92 in those years, and in 2024 were 1.1 million.
