Félix Plasencia in Colombia: advancing peace diplomacy

Félix Plasencia, Venezuelan ambassador to Colombia, arrived in the New Granada country as part of the diplomatic peace and cooperation agenda that will guarantee the reestablishment of brotherhood, commercial, and cultural relations fractured since 2019.

Plasencia described the rapprochement again with the neighboring country a second chance that history offers.

Through his twitter account, he said “as instructed by our president Nicolás Maduro, we arrived in the Republic of Colombia, to present the credentials before the Government of this nation, we are eager to advance in peace diplomacy.”

He stressed that upon arrival in Colombia the challenge is “to work, a lot of work. Armando Benedetti is already in Caracas, to work together”.

Likewise, he reiterated that the reestablishment of bilateral relations will guarantee the rescue of what had been abandoned.

“Retain the good tradition between contacts of brother peoples, between countries that are essential for Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.

Upon arrival, he also assured that they will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, “Venezuela’s spaces in this country (Colombia) will be rescued to attend to whatever is necessary, fundamentally the interests of Venezuelans in Colombia and vice versa.”
