The head of the ministry pointed out that the actions of the patrolmen who detained Eduardo Quispe and his cameraman last Tuesday to force them to read a statement in an open signal cannot affect all the citizens who make up the peasant patrols.
In this line, he assured that from his sector they are working to promote laws that allow regulating the performance of the rounds ratifying the importance of their work and respecting the rights of people.
At another point, Félix Chero commented on the statements made by the Prime Minister, Aníbal Torres, who at the time questioned the kidnapping suffered by the Fourth Estate journalists.
“The premier has given a statement from his particular point of view. We do not believe that the premier has any intention of generating a confrontation with the media. I don’t think that’s the intention.”estimated.
For this reason, the minister assured that from the Executive there is full respect for freedom of expression and freedom of the press.
