The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) announces that within the Investment Plan for the continuous improvement of the Federico Guardia Conte water treatment plant in Chilibre, this Saturday, September 21, operations will be suspended from 9:00 p.m. until 12:00 noon on Sunday, September 22.
The work, which is being coordinated by the IDAAN Maintenance, Engineering and Operations departments and will be carried out by the AB Chilibre Consortium, includes the intervention of divers and the optimization of pumping stations (gates, grates, valves and actuators).
During the day the supply of drinking water will be suspended in: Rio Abajo, Lefevre Park, San Francisco, Transistmica road, El Dorado, Tumba Muerto, Pueblo Nuevo, La Cresta, La Loceria, Betania, Miraflores, Altos de Miraflores, Dos Mares, Villa de Las Fuentes 1 and 2, Santa Maria, Hato Pintado, Altos de Panama, Carrasquilla, Edison Plaza, Limajo, October 12, Old Panama, Obarrio, Paitilla, Punta Pacifica, East Coast, 50th Street, Balboa Avenue, Brazil Road, Spain Road, El Carmen, Bella Vista, 50th Street, Balboa Avenue, Brazil Road, Spain Road, El Carmen, Bella Vista, Argentina Road, El Cangrejo and part of Clayton.
In addition, our customers in the district of San Miguelito, North Panama from Las Cumbres to Buena Vista and all sectors far from the network that comprise East Panama will be affected, from
Pedregal to the Siesta de Tocumen.
It is important to note that this is the first of five planned stops to carry out these works, which will make the water treatment plant’s operations more efficient.
We urge the population to take the appropriate measures to avoid shortages, since after the work is completed, a reasonable amount of time must be allowed for the network to be restored. Sensitive points (hospitals) will be supplied by means of operations with tanker trucks.
