for more than eight hours The Federico Guardia Conte water treatment plant in Chilibre will stop its operations to carry out maintenance, reported the Institute of National Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN), noting that the works will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
They highlighted that the work consists of introducing divers into the raw water intake to check the lower gates, inspection of the treated water suction tanks and maintenance of the 115 KV electrical substation.
IDAAN announced that the works will affect the supply in the capital city and San Miguelito. Exceptions are the sectors of Calidonia, Santa Ana, San Felipe, El Chorrillo and reverted areas that are supplied by the Miraflores water treatment plant.
As part of the contingency actions due to the lack of water, an operation will be put into operation to supply the Hospitals, Polyclinics and Health Centers of the capital, Tocumen, San Miguelito and Chilibre through tank cars. In addition, the coverage of the Miraflores water treatment plant will be expanded to guarantee supply to the Dr. Arnulfo Arias Madrid Metropolitan Hospital Complex.
IDAAN recommends that residential and commercial users take the necessary measures to avoid shortages during this period and to recover the system after the completion of the works, while apologizing for the inconveniences that arise.
