Federico Bravo de Rueda is appointed new general commander of the Navy of Peru

The Government, through the Ministry of Defense, appointed the Vice Admiral Federico Javier Bravo de Rueda Delgado as New General Commander of the Navy of Peru. The decision was formalized through Supreme Resolution No. 027-2025-DE, published today in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

Simultaneously, another resolution arranged the cessation of Vice Admiral Luis José Polar Figari, who goes to the retirement military situation after 40 years of service. The norm recognizes his career and thanks him for the contributions provided to the institution.

According to the law, the President of the Republic eleces the general commander of the Navy among the three oldest vice courses in activity, except the one who occupies the headquarters of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces. The position has an initial period of two years, with the possibility of an extension of up to one more year if it assumes the headquarters of the Joint Command.

The resolutions have the signature of President Dina Boluarte and the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo.
