This Friday (12), in Maranhão, ended the second edition of the Federative Caravan. With the theme Brazil we are building, the meeting, which was attended by several ministers, began on Thursday (11) with more than 8 thousand participants, and presented the impact of federal policies in the state, which, according to the government, already total $ 29 billion this year.
The objective of the caravan is to broaden the population’s access to public policies and strengthen the pact between Union, States and Municipalities. Until March 2026, the federative caravan should travel 19 states.
In the edition of Maranhão, agreements and transfers of programs of various organs were signed.
Sports Minister André Fufuca announced the implementation of sports equipment in the state, such as Arena Brasil, and more nuclei of the theater, care and social inclusion of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
“Today, Maranhão makes the largest federative caravan of all. Thanks to the support of President Lula, we have over 600 Arena Brasil in construction across the country, and we will commit more than 40 arenas in Maranhão. It is an important action for municipalities and for the development of the sport,” said the minister.
The minister also announced the expansion of the theater program in more than 20 cities for sports adapted for children and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorder.
“The program is a pioneer in the country. It was the first specific physical activity project for children and adolescents with autistic spectrum disorder. We are already present in Northeast and North capital. And in Maranhão, we will have 20 more units, bringing hope and dignity to thousands of families,” he added.

Women’s Minister Márcia Lopes highlighted the female protagonism in the formulation of public policies that guarantee rights and reduce inequality. The minister also emphasized the mobilization for the 5th National Conference on Policies for Women in Brasilia, from the 29th, and will feature 91 delegates elected by Maranhão.
“Promoting this moment of dialogue, communication and transparency is fundamental. The Ministry of Women is here to welcome all women from all sectors. Those who take care of women take care of society. This is our determination: to assure women their protagonism,” he said.
The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services gave real estate to organs and entities in the state, including the Agricultural Research Agency and Rural Extension (AGERP), the Maranhão Regional Electoral Court and the Federal Court in Balsas; and implemented a solidarity cuisine in partnership with the Citizenship Organization against Hunger.
The Ministry of Communications promoted the distribution of kits of the Brazil Denied program, to 46 cities of Maranhão, and that of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA) released the main results of the National Forest Inventory for Maranhão.
In the two days of the caravan, about 30 thematic workshops were held, from the Ministries of Integration and Regional Development; human rights and citizenship; Development and Social Assistance, Family and Hunger Fighting (MDS); of health, and from Caixa.
At the opening of the federative caravan, the state governor, Carlos Brandão, stressed the importance of partnership with the federal government, parliamentarians, social movements, organized civil society, managers and municipal representatives and secretaries of state.
“I am sure that together, we will continue to transform the reality of thousands of Maranhão. With the federative caravan, the Lula government has rescued direct contact from the federal government with the population and, municipalist as our management is, we fully believe in this way of governor. This movement has given a new face to our country and we are partners with this Initiative, which has already given impactful results where it passes, since its first edition,” he said.
