Federales remain undefeated by leaving Los Atlánticos on the field in extra episodes

A hit by Jhadiel Santamaría in the bottom of the tenth inning brought the run that gave Los Federales de Chiriquí the victory 6 runs for 5, leaving Los Atlánticos on the field for the second time in this three-game series at Kenny Stadium Serracin.

Once again the Atlantic troops began winning the game, this time it was Enrique Valdéz with a homer in the same first episode that made it 1-0, in the fourth inning Carlos Sánchez with an unstoppable brought Walker Bates with the second run for Los Atlánticos, but in the loss of that same episode Jhadiel Santamaría hit a double with the bases loaded to tie the actions at two runs per side, then a passed ball from the catcher allowed the third run for the Federales who took command 3-2.

In the top of the seventh inning came the response from Los Atlánticos with Edgar Muñoz’s 3-run homer that gave them a 5-3 lead, but in the bottom of the eighth inning Jhonny Santos brought the fourth run of the Chirican troops and when it seemed that the inning was ending, a costly error by pitcher Janser Lara in a throw to first base allowed the game to be tied at 5 runs.

The game went to the extra episodes where Jhadiel Santamaría hit the single with the bases loaded and gave the victory to Los Federales, leaving Los Atlánticos lying on the field, suffering their third setback of the season, while the ninth Chiricana remains undefeated in three outings.

The winning pitcher was David Richardson who allowed no hits, no runs and struck out one in two innings, while Janser Lara took the loss.
