Aimed at basic education professionals, the extension course in Training for Teaching and Management for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations and Quilombola School Education is available open registration until February 5th. 150,000 places are being offered, but each of the ten participating higher education institutions follows its own calendar – some have even closed the enrollment stage.
At the federal universities of Pará (UFPA) and Tocantins (UFT), the deadline is February 3rd and, at Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), until the 5th of next month. In the case of the Federal Institute of Goiás (IFG), applications will be received until all vacancies are filled.
The training focuses on the black population. The course is made up of four modules: Ethnic-Racial Panorama and Brazilian Quilombola; Cultures and Territorialities; Anti-Racist Education in Practice and Democratic Management for Diversity.
The list of institutions offering the course is available on website from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes). With a workload of 120 hours, classes will start in March and will be taught in partnership with the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ).
Classes are divided into four modules: Ethnic-Racial Panorama and Brazilian Quilombola; Cultures and Territorialities; Anti-Racist Education in Practice, and Democratic Management for Diversity. The initiative is the result of cooperation between Capes and the Secretariat of Continuing Education, Youth and Adult Literacy, Diversity and Inclusion (Secadi), of the Ministry of Education (MEC).
