Aiming to supply the consumer market during the year-end festivities, the Federal Highway Police and the Federal Revenue are tightening their grip to combat the entry of illicit products into the country.
The irregular entry of beverages into Brazil is harmful to the country’s economy, as wines are stored in inadequate conditions and transported inappropriately. In this way, there is no guarantee of legitimacy of the products, as they may suffer tampering or counterfeiting.
This year, from January to October, the Federal Revenue has already seized more than 400,000 bottles of wine and sparkling wine, drinks valued at around R$ 47 million.
