The Federal Police (PF) edited a series of internal normative acts addressing actions to protect candidates in this year’s elections. In addition to preparing professionals and qualifying teams, it is distributing armored vehicles to all regional superintendencies, according to a note released today (12), in Brasília.
“The operation will start after the approval in a party convention of the candidacy, in compliance with the current legislation (which has the deadline to take place between July 20 and August 5 of this year). There will be more than 300 police officers involved, among those who will make up the dedicated protection teams and those from the specialized units that will support the teams dedicated to the visits of candidates to their respective states”, detailed the PF when informing that VIP cars will be used by candidates in their displacements. .]

The selection of federal police officers was based on their experience in protecting the person, as well as their operational capacity.
“The teams of each candidate are being formed based on risk analysis carried out by a police intelligence group that will act throughout the electoral period”, explained the PF, adding that “sociopolitical factors” will subsidize the actions of the protection teams.
Also according to the Federal Police, all units specialized in protecting the person were “technically and doctrinally aligned” during the year 2021, and since then, more than 160 federal police officers have been trained at the National Police Academy through the Basic Protection Course. the person.
