The Federal Police (PF) executes today (17) 11 search and seizure warrants in homes and offices in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The Burial of Bones operation investigates crimes of money laundering and tax evasion.
According to the PF, the action is an offshoot of the Patron operationwhich investigated former Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes, who ruled the neighboring country between 2013 and 2018.
The action seeks to deepen investigations into individuals who maintain or have maintained assets and resources abroad not declared to the Brazilian authorities.
The targets of today’s operation are also being investigated for carrying out suspicious operations of illegal remittance of money abroad.
