The Federal Police (PF) is currently serving three preventive arrest warrants and seven search and seizure warrants against those accused of being part of a criminal group specializing in the sale of illicit drugs in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro. About 70 police officers participate in Operation Thunder, carried out in partnership with the Public Ministry (MPRJ).
According to investigations, the group controls the sale of drugs in the Baleeira community, in the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, and uses companies and oranges to launder money. Criminals are suspected of buying real estate with illegal money. The operation identified assets of R$ 10 million belonging to the organization.
