Federal police officers served a probation and search and seizure warrant against a 60-year-old man accused of using false documents to obtain benefits from the National Social Security Institute (INSS). The warrants were carried out yesterday (19) at the investigated’s house, in Belford Roxo, in Baixada Fluminense. The name of the inmate has not yet been announced.
The Justice also suspended the fraudulent social security benefits. According to the Federal Police (PF), the investigation began in 2020. Since then, at least 30 fraudulently obtained benefits have been identified by the INSS, including death pensions and elderly care benefits.
The estimate is that the scheme has caused a loss of about R$ 500 thousand. The investigated will answer for the crimes of falsification of public document, use of false public document, receipt of documents from theft and robbery, forgery paraphernalia and social security fraud.
