Federal Executive Branch employees will have their food allowance readjusted by 17.5%. According to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), the adjustment reinforces the policy of recomposing benefits that began in 2023, after six years without updating.
Since then, food assistance has gone from R$458 to R$1,000; and now reaches R$1,175, an accumulated increase of 156.55%. The new amount will begin to be paid in 2025.
The agreement was signed last Wednesday (5) between the MGI and entities representing the public service. The financial impact is already foreseen in the Annual Budget Bill (PLOA) of 2026, currently being processed in the National Congress.
The government also highlighted that the depending on the volume of resources approved in the PLOA, pre-school aid and health aid will also be readjusted, with an update based on the variation in the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) – official inflation – since the last adjustment.
