Federal government auctions fishing terminals in Aracaju and Cananéia

More than R$ 102 thousand were raised by the federal government in fishing terminal auctions held this morning (3), at B3, in São Paulo. The highest offer was proposed by K. Coelho L&R, which purchased the Cananéia fishing terminal, on the coast of São Paulo, for R$ 101.1 thousand as the grant value. The company was the only competitor. The concession auction was promoted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, with support from the Special Secretariat for the Investment Partnership Program of the Presidency of the Republic. Three public fishing terminals would be auctioned, but the Santos terminal, also on the coast of São Paulo, ended up being postponed.

The judging criterion was the highest offer, corresponding to the highest grant value for each fishing terminal.

In addition to the Cananéia fishing terminal, the Aracaju (SE) terminal was also granted. The winner was BTJ Distribuidora, the only competitor, which offered R$990 as the grant amount.

According to the ministry, the concession offers the private sector the right to economically exploit the terminals for a period of 20 yearsforeseeing investments in the order of millions of reais for the modernization and operation of the facilities.
