Querétaro, Qro. The states are working on the integration of a platform for register investment projectsincluding aspects such as investment portfolios and regulatory needs, among other points.
The president of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development (Amsde) -Secretary of Sustainable Development of Querétaro- Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, explained that this platform was one of the topics addressed on November 14 in the meeting between the members of Amsde and the Secretary of Economy (SE) of Mexico , Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, where the federal secretary took oath to the new board of directors of the association and presented the key points of the national economic boost strategy.
The national platformhe pointed out, will include information related to the investment projects that are in the portfolio, that is, those companies that are analyzing setting up in the country. It will also include aspects of links with the federal government, water requirements, energy requirements, procedures and more.
“(The presentation of a productive platform was addressed in which all states are uploading the productive projects that are arriving in our state, as we do, – in fact it was a proposal from Querétaro to do it like this, that we present how many projects we have in our portfolio, how many are yet to be realized-; And what do they need, they added a linking component with the federal government: if they need water, electricity, environmental procedures, municipal procedures, so that they can get unstuck,” he explained.
At the moment, there are more than 1,100 projects registered on the platformwhich would represent investments of almost three billion pesos in the country, he stated.
At that meeting, the Secretary of Economy presented to the state secretaries six economic boost strategies: T-MEC reviewthe increase in regional content, the development of the industry, economic development through technological development and innovation, the promotion of Wellbeing Corridors, in addition, the investment platform was presented.
“He presented to us the six points that he foresees for Mexico’s economic boost, which begins with T-MEC reviewthe increase in national content, industrial development, economic development through technological development and innovation, the promotion of Wellbeing Corridors,” explained the president of Amsde.
Also, the members of the association interacted with the coordinators of the Wellbeing Corridors.
“We also talked about international promotion in other fairs, exhibitions, paperwork, in short, it was a very busy meeting, in which about 18 states also participated with presentations, with proposals and in which the secretary took away agreements. to see each other next December 13th. (…) We saw an openness, knowledge of the secretary of the specific issues of each state; Some of the secretaries expressed their concern on very specific issues,” he explained.
In this context, they also spoke of the relocation trendin particular, from Asian companies that are looking to settle in the country.
In QueretaroHe added that there will be 50 investments completed in 2024; He added that in the entity there is openness and possibilities to continue promoting key industries such as aeronautics, aerospace, semiconductors, data centers, agribusiness, textiles and others.
According to monitoring by the SE, from January to September, 209 public announcements from the private sector have been made in the country, with an investment expectation of 64,703 million dollars; The entities with the highest accumulated investment are Querétaro (11%), Nuevo León (11%), Veracruz (10%) and State of Mexico (10%).
