Residents of some regions of the Federal District celebrated the arrival of rain, after 157 days of drought. THE Brazil Agency had access to videos of isolated blows in the neighborhoods of Águas Claras and Ceilândia.
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) had already reported that the federal capital could record precipitation in isolated areas throughout the weekend – the last of September and the first of spring.
“The chances are small, but they are not ruled out”, assessed the institute on Friday (27), highlighting that temperatures in the region will remain high, with maximum temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius.
Last night, residents of the Botanical Garden even recorded lightning in the skies. The song of cicadas, which indicate rain, also increased Brasília’s expectations for precipitation.
Alert
Despite the rapid relief, the Inmet issued two warnings about heat waves and low humidity in the Federal District until at least this Sunday (29). Guidelines for the population include:
– drink plenty of fluids;
– avoid physical activities;
– avoid exposure to the sun in the hottest hours of the day;
– use skin moisturizer and humidify the environment;
– avoid physical wear in the driest hours.
