The commemoration of the 62 years of the federal capital this ThursdayFriday (21) has a wide cultural program. In all, 17 cultural facilities to haveare artistic activities. Named “Sorria, Brasília”, the commemorative project has events until the next Sunday (24). From concerts to movie shows; from exhibitions to creative economy fairs; from popular shows to orchestra presentations, such as the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony, the city will be full of attractions in celebration of the anniversary.
According to the Federal District Government (GDF), R$ 700 thousand will be invested in cultural activities. Among the events is the reopening of the exhibition “Poeira, Lona e Concreto”, which depicts the early days of the construction of the city, at the Living Museum of Candanga Memory.
Ibero-American Capital of Cultures
Another highlight is the external occupation of the Ibero-American Cultural Hub, a former Funarte space in Brasília, which has a program aimed at meeting families and friends around its vast lawn and galleries with picnics, Festival de Orquestras Populares, Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro, shows and drawing. The program reinforces the year “Brasilia Ibero-American Capital of Cultures”, a world title awarded in 2022 to the city.
Movie theater
Cine Brasília, which also celebrates its 62nd birthday in April 22ndfollows a special program open to the public with a selection of emblematic films and a commemorative show by the Comedy Company Os Melhores do Mundo.
Actions are also intense at the Concha Acústica, with concerts and cinema shows, at the Brasília Art Museum (MAB) and at the Indigenous Peoples Memorial.
Cattle
Catetinho, Juscelino Kubitschek’s first official residence in the construction of the capital, reopens to celebrate Brasília’s 62nd anniversary, after two years of closure.
The museum underwent maintenance from the roof to the cement floor of the architectural structure with pilotis, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, in 1956.
In all, BRL 396,600 were invested and, during maintenance, the collection of 466 items – including pieces of furniture, utensils, books, records and other objects, which Juscelino Kubitschek used until 1959, when the Palácio da Alvorada – it was packed and stored at the Dance Center, a cultural space of the DF Department of Culture.
TV tower
In the TV Tower, in the central region of the city, there will be a special structure for the Virada Cultural Brasília 62 Years that will bring a program full of music, with DJs and live attractions, in addition to a theatrical company. Designed for all ages, the event will have a kids area and food court.
Cultural and sports activities will be concentrated on Palco 360, on the lawn in front of the tower, which will host concerts by artists. During the afternoon, children can have fun with Cia Teatral Néia & Nando with the show Moana, based on the famous Disney animation.
One of the most awaited attractions is Lenine, from Pernambuco, who will bring his Rizoma tour, starting at 8 pm. The Criolina Festival closes the Thursday activities with lots of music.
