The Panamanian Baseball Federation established in a Plenary Meeting the use of a minimum of 10 players between 17 and 23 years of age, in the rosters of each team that will play the next Senior National Championship, 2023.
As established this Monday afternoon, each team must have at least 10 players between the ages of 17 and 23 and the other fourteen, without age restrictions.
The new regulation on the age of the players is part of Article 18 of the Official Regulations of the Senior Championship. It was also stipulated in Article 51 that the tiebreakers to opt for a classification spot will be with a tiebreaker game and not by domain law as has been established.
The use of the Domain regulation is used solely and exclusively to define positions and not to define a classification. Article 38 also stipulates that by the time the notes of the Panamanian national anthem are sung, all players must be properly uniformed on the line in front of their respective “dogout”.
It was also stipulated in the new Article 23 that the reinforcements or picks will be selected before starting the Round of 8 and the Semifinal Series.
The championship system will be in two groups, playing all against all, with two rounds in their respective groups and one round of intergroup games, for a total of 16 games, which makes a grand total of 96 commitments in the regular phase.
The Series of Eight will be played with the pre-established system where 1 plays with 8, 2 against 7, 3 with 6 and 4 with five. All the series, after the regular phase, will be 7 games.
