There will be technical advice and financing will be given, through a plan that the FEDA is preparing
To increase production and guarantee mango exports, the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) will support mango producers in the country, with a comprehensive plan to relaunch the sector.
The institution has already hired two specialists in certification and exports in order to guarantee the quality of the fruit.
The announcement was made by the director of the FEDA, Hecmilio Galvan, during a meeting in Bani with mango producers in the provinces of San Cristobal, Azua, Baoruco, Pedernales and Peravia. He said that the FEDA is preparing a plan, whose total investment is being analyzed, support that will be given through its associations and cooperatives.

He explained that the project includes technical assistance, training, collective certification, national and international promotion with the celebration of festivals in various parts of the country, marketing, development of a packaging plant, they will support the Department of agriculture for the strengthening of plant health and will provide associations and cooperatives with machinery and equipment, industrialization, irrigation system, for which they will contact the Indrhi and the Irrigation Technification Commission, and product diversification.
He said that President Abinader is interested in promoting mango exports, for which the FEDA, in support of the Ministry of Agriculture, will support fruit producers with technical advice and financing.
