Personnel of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office Corruption Crimes of Piura Officials The Human Resources Office of the regional government intervened to gather information about the alleged crime of embezzlement of funds that would have been committed during the administration of former regional governor Servando García Correa.
Yesterday Friday morning, the provincial deputy prosecutor José Jiménez Moscol, from the third office of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Corruption Crimes of Officials of Piura, appeared at the Human Resources Office of the Piura Regional Government to directly collect the annexes of workers corresponding to the months of October and November.
These documents were not delivered at the time, despite having been previously requested, which allowed the intervention of the Public Ministry personnel.
The prosecution maintained that this action is part of the investigation being carried out against the former regional governor Servando García Correa and other people who are responsible, for the alleged commission of the crime of embezzlement of funds to the detriment of the State and the Single Union of Workers of the Regional Government of Piura (Sutragobreg Piura).

According to the complaint received, the GORE Piura would have canceled labor benefits established by precautionary measures, allocating the expense to the generic category “Personal and Social Obligations”, within the category of Ordinary Resources, without having the authorization of free availability.
For this, the amount involved in the alleged crime amounts to approximately 11,030,484.00 soles.
Likewise, additionally, an amount of 1,386,032.06 soles of the resources assigned to Budget Program 117 would have been used, specifically in product 3000889 and budget activity 5006337, corresponding to “Attention, care and protection of girls, boys and adolescents in lack of family protection through basic residential reception centers – Piura.”
The staff of the Piura Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office collected information that will help in the investigation to determine the responsibilities of the former governor and officials.
