A projection made by the Federation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP) points out that retail trade in the state of São Paulo should close the year 2022 with a growth of 9% compared to last year, adding R$ 1.1 trillion in real sales in the year. According to the federation, if this projection is confirmed, this will be the best billing of the São Paulo retail trade in 14 years.
This growth is due, above all, to clothing, textiles and footwear stores, which had a 22% increase in sales up to September.
According to FecomercioSP, this scenario demonstrates the reaction of the sectors that most felt the restrictions that were imposed to control the pandemic of the new coronavirus. “Between January and June 2022, with the exception of vehicle dealerships and appliance and electronics stores, all activities analyzed showed a historic record in sales,” the entity said in a note.
Between January and September of this year, retail sales had already broken a historic record, reaching the mark of R$ 812 billion.
