"Fecal matter in abundance" was thrown into the Arroyo Cufré causing serious contamination

According to the communiqué of the deputy Nicolás Viera (FA) with his “maragato peer Nicolás Mesa, we submitted a request for a report addressed to the Ministry of the Environment to find out the scope of an episode of contamination in the Cufré stream that occurred a few weeks ago.”

The fact “included the suspension of a traditional journey that was going to be carried out due to the levels of contamination observed,” Viera said. He also said he did not know the origin, but “from what the neighbors tell us, it could be an abundance of fecal matter coming from a cesspool or barometric.”

“It is a serious fact, and we are concerned about the level of information that the Ministry may have. We don’t know what happened, much less how we plan to prevent this type of situation,” Viera said.
