Fe y Alegría promotes the “Scholarship for a student” initiative to provide care to vulnerable families and prevent children from leaving school
The Sustainability and Financing Coordinator of the Fe y Alegría Schools Program, Alexis Moreno, indicated that the organization recently launched an initiative called “Scholarship for a Student”; with which they aspire to raise funds for students in 177 schools spread throughout the country – and 96 thousand students enrolled – and thus stimulate school inclusion.
In an interview granted to Radio Fe y AlegríaMoreno pointed out that with the “Scholarship a student” campaign what we want is for citizens to be able to help the most vulnerable families; Therefore, he pointed out that the objective is to ensure that at least 10 thousand children can receive scholarships.
He highlighted that education in Venezuela is not as free as it should be because it is currently evident that it is “high cost”, emphasizing that there is a need to maintain the infrastructure of educational centers and pay for teachers’ salaries.
“Our families are from urban and rural communities. Communities that are depressed in economic terms, although they have great love and affection, but it is difficult for them to give the contribution and this scholarship is a great commitment to quality and educational inclusion for the good of the community and citizens,” Moreno pointed out.

The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, requested the Thursday October 17 to the Bolivarian Family Movement (MBF) to help reincorporate young people who are not in school into the educational system, since “no boy should be left out.”
Rodriguez He stressed that this is one of the five tasks that the MBF must carry out, in addition to guaranteeing the class schedule and ending the “mosaic schedule”, achieving a full staff of teachers, generating debate to define the educational quality that is seeks and carries out the reconstruction of management in educational centers.
School enrollment for 2024-2025 is 5.5 million students at different levels (preschool, basic and secondary), according to what the Minister of Education himself has said. This means a 37% decrease compared to the 2021-2022 school year, according to figures from the Ministry of Education.
