“The efficacy and safety of this vaccine is similar in all age groups, so it gives parents the peace of mind that their children will not present any adverse event,” he specified.
Dr. Patricia Argueta, director of Asofarma Central America and the Caribbean, spoke this Tuesday, on Radio Panama, about the FDA’s authorization for the emergency use of the Moderna vaccine against Covid-19 in children older than six months.
Argueta explained that the dose to be used in these children is 25µg, in two doses separated by a month. “It’s a big plus for parents because it makes immunization available for younger children that hasn’t been available so far in the pandemic,” she said.
He stressed that this vaccine from six months to six years the dose is 25 µg, from six years to 12 years it is 50 µg, and from the age of 12 the adolescent and adult doses are already used.
