The FCU-UCV formed an Investigative Commission for the “substantiation of the procedure, compilation of evidence, testimonies and other relevant information regarding the case, with the aim of generating a report that clarifies the event and allows the board of directors to make decisions.”
The Commission is chaired by Dilan Estrada, FCU Sports Secretary, and made up of José Romero, Deputy Secretary General; Víctor García, Secretary of International Affairs; Patricia Briceño and Andrés Calpavire, Principal University Advisors.
Regarding the decisions, the Statutes of the Federation of University Centers establish that, if a member of the Executive Committee is accused of violating the statutes, lacking discipline or incurring in actions contrary to student morality, at the initiative of the Executive Committee, it will be exposed the case before the Board of Directors who will determine whether or not any of the disciplinary measures established in the Statute: reprimand, severe reprimand, suspension for up to one year or expulsion.
The Executive Committee, with the objective of safeguarding the integrity of the procedure, suspended Gabriel Requena and Simón Bolívar Obregón from their respective posts.
The Federation of University Centers assumes the commitment and responsibility to face violence, in any of its forms, and we invoke our internal disciplinary mechanisms, stipulated in the FCU Statutes, to guarantee respect for our values and principles as highest body of university student representation of the UCV.
