In statements to the media, mothers and fathers pointed out that, despite changes in government and repeated promises, the truth remains fragmented and justice incomplete.
They stressed that their presence in the Basilica was not only an act of faith, but also a way to keep the memory of the 43 alive and to insist that they will not stop their fight.

Just in September, the month that marked 11 years since the disappearance of the students, President Claudia Sheinbaum offered truth and justice.
“Truth and justice, that is our commitment. We are working on it, there is a new special prosecutor, we have meetings with the relatives, with mothers and fathers of the Ayotzinapa normalistas and our commitment to do everything we can to reach truth and justice,” said the president at the National Palace.

Despite the meetings they have held with President Sheinbaum, the relatives of the disappeared have remained dissatisfied because there are no new lines of investigation or detainees, and the pages in which, the parents claim, there is information about what happened before, during and after the disappearance of the students, have not been delivered either.
