Father will pay 20 years for raping his daughter

The 2nd Trial Court of Mérida issued a 20-year prison sentence against Edwuard Erick Gutiérrez Fernández (42) for committing sexual violence against his 16-year-old teenage daughter, the Public Ministry reported.

This fact was discovered on June 17 of this year in the Matriz de San Buenaventura de Ejido parish, located in the Campo Elías municipality of the state of Mérida.

During the aforementioned date, the young woman went before the Specialized Unit for Children and Adolescents of that state to point out that her father had been carrying out sexual violence against her since she was nine years old. In this sense, she said that that same day she had asked her father for permission to stay longer at a school activity, who agreed in exchange for having sexual relations with her, the Prosecutor’s Office reported.

After hours, Gutiérrez Fernández looked for her at school and, after arriving home, he locked himself in a room with her, turned up the volume on the television and sexually abused her.
Likewise, the complainant stated that every time she requested permission to attend an activity, her father asked to have sexual activity in exchange for obtaining said permission. He even physically attacked her on several occasions.

Once the respective complaint was filed, Gutiérrez Fernández was arrested that same day by the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office for indictment.
