A few days ago, the cycle of sectoral workshops for the evaluation and development of technological needs (ENT) and an action plan associated with the needs for mitigation and adaptation to climate change, organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development (MADES), culminated.

In the workshops there have been presentations on a group of possible key technologies for the following sectors: Ecosystems and Biodiversitythe Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) sector, Water Resources, Energy and Transport, Sector, Agricultural Production, Forestry and Food SecurityIndustrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU).

After the various presentations, debates were promoted between representatives of MADES, the NCD Committee, NCD consultants and invited key actors and selected after the Workshops for the Constitution of Sectoral Working Groups.

The purpose of the debate has been review the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities of the selected technologies, in order to then facilitate the prioritization of the key technologieswhich will be done as the next step of the project.

Total, 75 experts from various sectors have contributed their knowledge through these sectoral workshopsbased on their experiences in reviewing all the files submitted by the national consultants.

The cycle of workshops had the support of the project carried out by the consortium made up of the Spanish company OIKO and its local allies such as the Moisés Bertoni Foundation (FMB) and Research for Development (ID).

Identification of technological needs will help design the action plan to mitigate and achieve adaptation to the effects of climate changeas explained by those responsible who were behind the organization of the cycle of workshops.

After the workshops, all technologies presented and added in the workshops will be filtered in the next steps of the Technology Needs Assessmentusing the methodology of multicriteria analysis.
