The Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB) announced this Thursday the formation of the Farmers team that will represent him in the Caribbean series to begin in Caracas, Venezuela, on February 2.
The cast directed by Carlos Martí won this right after being crowned in the I Cuban Baseball Elite League (LEBC). It will be made up of two catchers, seven infielders, the same number of outfielders and 12 pitchers, according to a note published in the sports portal Hit.

The Farmers board opted to add four reinforcements and incorporate outfielder Raico Santos, a player on their payroll who did not participate in the Cuban tournament due to fulfilling a contract in a foreign league.
As it turned out, the players from other teams than the LEBC are the outfielder Denis Laza and the pitchers Andy Vargas, Jonathan Carbó and Alexander Valiente.
The FCB explained that all the members of the cast that represented the provinces of Granma and Las Tunas will be concentrated in Havana, where they will finish their preparation before leaving for the Venezuelan capital early next week.
The schedule announced by the organizers indicates that Agricultores will debut in the tournament on February 2 at 10:30 am (local time) against the champion of Curaçao.
Then the teams that won the professional leagues of the Dominican Republic (day three), Venezuela (four), Mexico (five), Colombia (six), Puerto Rico (seven) and Panama (eight) will be measured.
The best four teams from the preliminary phase will pass to the crossed semifinals, which will take place on Thursday, February 9. The medal dispute will be on Friday, February 10.
Heading to Gran Caracas 2023: Cuban baseball players are protagonists in the Caribbean Leagues
Farmers will star in a second return of the Cuban teams to the Caribbean Series, from which they were absent in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions.
Cuba was the founder of the tournament and winner of the largest number of titles (seven) between the 1949 and 1960 editions. Five of those crowns (between 1956 and 1960) were won consecutively.
After leaving the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC), the Cuban teams were absent from the tournament until the 2014 edition held in Isla Margarita, Venezuela, where the cast of Azucareros de Villa Clara arrived as a guest.
Since then, the best result has been the crowning of the Vegueros de Pinar del Río team in the 2015 edition that was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
