A resolution of the Suyos Charka Qhara Qhara FAOI-NP of northern Potosí He denied the versions about the fights that arose at the VI congress of the MAS in the town of Toro Toro and that they wanted to be covered up by the leadership of the blue party. They denounced vandalism and aggression from the MAS leadership of that region and now they are asking for compensation.

“At the end of this VI congress of the MAS-IPSP, upon seeing the final results, the brothers from the Chayanta province and the Alonzo de Ibáñez province, belonging to the Trade Union Federation of the northern Potosí region (headed by Benito Gabriel Rodríguez, Crispín Characayo Corrales , Eduardo Pacheco Colque, Marco Surumi Choque, Juvenal Choque Ramírez and others) brutally and vandalically attacked the original authorities of the Federation of Ayllus Originarios Indígenas del Norte Potosí FAOI-NP.”, indicates the resolution of these communities.

In June, the national leadership of the MAS had convened the VI departmental congress that should be held in the town of Toro Toro. In that event, which took place on July 3, the factions of Evo Morales and David Choquehuanca engaged in a pitched battle.

The leaders of the MAS attributed these fights to a Potosi custom of greeting a meeting with internal fights and even presented the resolutions of that congress.

“The Departmental Congress of the MAS-IPSP in Potosí concluded with a Resolution that will be sent to the National Directorate. As a former leader of the CSUTCB I saw that the fight, even more so in the North Potosí region, is traditional, they call it the misk’ynchada (sweetened) in the middle of the event”, declared the head of the MAS caucus, Gualberto Arispe, on July 4.

This Friday, the attacked peasants published a resolution with five articles denouncing the attacks and asking for compensation for the damage they suffered. Likewise, they propose processes in the ordinary justice system against the attackers.

“The Federation of Ayllus Originarios Indígenas del Norte de Potosí urges the national authorities of MAS-IPSP Immediately punish the leaders and perpetrators and intellectuals accordingly, for inciting vandalism in the MAS-IPSP departmental congress held in the municipality of Toro Toro. Likewise, the intellectual and material authors must be investigated immediately and they must be prosecuted before the ordinary justice”, indicates article 3 of the resolution.

According to data from the region, the fight occurred after the faction of Evo Morales will try to position his related militants as departmental leaders. Although the congress was endorsed by Evo Morales and his leadership, they never arrived for the inauguration of the event.

The top leader of the MAS, who usually uses his accounts on social networks to report on this type of event, He opted for silence and did not mention the fights that took place in Potosí.

Months earlier, on May 17, in the town of Tinguipaya, another Potosí town, the Vice President, David Choquehuanca, attended a rally to inaugurate a leadership training school. After that event, the assistants who prepared the meeting were harassed by peasants from communities close to Evo Morales and the confrontation ended with two deaths.
