Apparently, the Farmatodo workers in several stores in the country could take this call to a national strike if there is no response.
Since the morning hours of this Saturday, April 9, reports on social networks indicate that the company’s workers pharmacodoknown for its services in the health sector, went on strike to demand better wage claims.
The employees of the chain warn that they are being required to work three times what they currently do and that from October 2021 it will only increase by 5%.
The Farmatodo workers’ protest took place in various locations around the country. Many closed the stores and denounce that the company acts “outside the Labor Law.” They assured that if they did not have a satisfactory salary increase, they could paralyze the activity of the stores throughout Venezuela.

workers of @Farmatodo in protest x wage increase. Yesterday I spoke with some and it seemed incredible to me how low the salaries are. Will the chain be in crisis? Or will he play that “those who don’t like the salary, resign” and thus reduce or renew staff at the lowest possible cost?

It may be the 1st time that a private sector workers’ strike has taken place in Venezuela, the working class of #pharmatodo demands a fair salary and income. Faced with the voracity of an employer who speculates and obtains fabulous profits that he redistributes to his workers https://t.co/K2foUenRvJ

A survey of employers in the private sector carried out by the Venezuelan Finance Observatory (OVF) revealed that, on average, the minimum wage received by workers is $100 and payment in dollars is becoming more frequent.
The first quarter 2022 results show a significant increase in remuneration compared to the same period in 2021, since at the end of the first quarter of last year the minimum wage was, on average, about $50, half of the current salary.
The OVF divided its salary survey into three sectors and determined that the averages for each are $234.7 for managers, $152.7 for professionals and $100 for workers. When including all the respondents, it was determined that the general average is $108.7.
the president of Conindustry, Luigi Pisellaexpressed in mid-February 2022 that the purchasing power of Venezuelans must be rescued and that the remuneration that workers receive be in accordance with their efforts, for which he stressed that policies must be aimed at favoring national production and not the importation of products.
