Santo Domingo.- The Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Rafulreiterated this Thursday that the homicide and robbery rates in the country have shown a sustained reductionwhile responding to the statements of the former head of the National Police, Guillermo Guzmán Ferminwho questioned these claims.
Raful explained that, unlike previous years, the current authorities have most advanced technological systems that allow the accurate collection and analysis of crime statistics throughout the national territory.
“He knows very well how the homicide rate is managed; the records have been systematized for a long time and the data from the Attorney General’s Office confirm the improvements. The same thing happens with the robbery rate,” the official pointed out.

The minister highlighted that every Monday, during the meeting of the Joint Task Force headed by the president Luis Abinadersecurity indicators are reviewed with total transparencyguaranteeing verifiable and updated information for citizens.
“In his time, none of this existed; today we are more advanced and we will continue working without stopping,” Raful emphasized when responding to Guzmán Fermín.
Likewise, he assured that the Ministry of the Interior and Police maintains a constant monitoring and one permanent evaluation of police operations to strengthen citizen security.
Raful highlighted the progress achieved in the police reformincluding increasing the number of agents patrolling the streets, the incorporation of body camerasand the technological modernization of detachments to facilitate complaints and guarantee more precise data on criminal acts.
“For the first time we have tools that allow us to act with transparency and effectiveness; we are committed to continuing to improve security throughout the country,” concluded the minister.
