Far right seeks to undermine Venezuelan democracy through psychological warfare

The internationalist Carolina Escarrá denounced the existence of a psychological war plan promoted by the United States with the support of the extreme right in which the technological element plays a fundamental role in undermining Venezuelan democracy, generating anxiety in the country, as well as internationally.

During an interview on the program “Al Aire”, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Escarrá pointed out that this strategy not only seeks to generate immediate emotions and reactions, but also to work on people’s fears, anxieties and desires at a neurological level, through systematic propaganda.

“There is a psychological war brewing,” Escarrá emphasized, recalling that it has been in development for a long time, he even indicated that the operation was denounced by Commander Hugo Chávez, and currently by President Nicolás Maduro.

In that sense, he stated that, through this psychological war, the extreme right has promoted false narratives, such as the idea that President Maduro was not democratically elected, to seek to position “María Corina Machado” as the country’s leader.

Finally, he reiterated that psychological and cognitive warfare is a mechanism of domination that must be faced with critical awareness and unity, following the historical teachings of Chávez.
