Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces seized 13 cryptocurrency mining machines in a raid carried out at a location in the Los Laureles sector, Juan Germán Roscio municipality, Guárico state.
The information was provided by the head of the FANB’s Strategic Operational Command, Domingo Hernández Lárez, through his account on the social network Instagram, where he explained that in the aforementioned procedure, 25 mining cards, 25 power sources, four ceramic insulators and 200 meters of cable were also seized.
Hernández Lárez explained that the aforementioned equipment did not have the necessary permits and licenses to operate.
Second blow
It should be noted that this procedure is the second blow dealt in Guárico in just a week’s time, since on the 6th of this month an operation was carried out by the FANB, together with officials from the Public Ministry, which culminated in the confiscation of 35 cryptocurrency mining machines in the El Mirador sector of the Juan Germán Roscio Nieves municipality.
In addition, 30 extractors, several industrial fans and two vehicles, one a Chevrolet and one a Jeep, were also involved in the procedure.
The reason behind this intervention was the lack of permits and licenses to support the operation of this bitcoin mining farm.
In our country, cryptocurrency mining activities are regulated under a strict legal framework.
Those who engage in this activity must be registered with the National Superintendency of Cryptoassets (Sunacrip) and have the necessary authorizations.
Hernández Lárez stressed that all these procedures carried out by the Venezuelan authorities have been passed on to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the body in charge of determining the guilt of those involved in the crimes committed.
The senior military official assured that the military will not give up any illegal act that takes place in Venezuelan territory and that they have the necessary personnel to do so.
