staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) located and detained a vehicle with adaptations for a multiple explosives launcher, on a border trail in Catatumbo, Zulia state.
This was reported by the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez.
Likewise, through his account on the social network Twitter, he specified that the retained vehicle is linked to the Colombian Drug Trafficking Armed Terrorist Groups (Tancol), and was used to terrorize the population.
“Venezuela will not be a base or platform for any type of armed terrorist group. #FANB locates and captures on the border trail, in Catatumbo, a vehicle with multiple explosive launcher adaptations used by #Tancol to terrorize the population. We are a territory of peace”, published the Chief of Ceofanb.
In addition, he recalled that “Venezuela will not be a base or platform for any type of armed terrorist group”, so the FANB will remain active to combat these irregular groups.
These actions are framed in the instruction of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to combat all drug trafficking groups in the national territory.
Tancol tracks are destroyed: 60 are unused
On the other hand, also in Zulia but in the Semprún municipality, the FANB located and destroyed a structure linked to the Tancol groups for the adaptation of clandestine tracks, used for drug trafficking.
“In the border area of the Semprún municipality, in Zulia state, #FANB locates and destroys the #Tancol structure used to adapt clandestine tracks, a platform for drug trafficking,” Hernández Lárez said on the social network.
Thus, with the discovery of this new structure linked to the Tancol, there are 60 clandestine tracks unused during the year 2023.
“#FANB has disabled 60 clandestine airstrips during the execution of Operation #EscudoBolivariano Relámpago del Catatumbo 2023. Our territory will not be a platform for drug trafficking,” he added.
FANB in defense of the borders
The FANB guarantees with the Bolivarian Shield Operation Catatumbo Lightning 2023 the defense of the border axis of the state of Zulia.
Likewise, the various actions in terms of patrolling, elimination of illegal structures and capture of irregular groups linked to drug trafficking carried out by the FANB throughout the national territory ratify its position of zero tolerance for drug trafficking and the alteration of the peace of the population.
“The full sovereignty of the Republic is exercised in all geographic spaces, all group camps will be dismantled. #tancol installed in the national territory”, emphasized Hernández Lárez.
Illegal minery
With the premise of dismantling all the camps established on the border for illegal purposes in the national territory, such as illegal mining, drug trafficking, human trafficking and others, the FANB continues to exercise sovereignty in the different areas of the country.
In this sense, the Chief of Ceofanb said that national parks are subject to a special security and defense regime, so no action will be allowed that threatens the ecosystem.
“National parks are subject to a special security and protection regime, no type of human activity that predators nature and the environment will be allowed. #FANB deployed in Amazonas state,” said Hernández Lárez.
“The FANB exercising sovereignty in our border axes. No criminal group associated with drug trafficking will be able to establish itself in the national territory, their camps will be dismantled, evicted, and destroyed,” he stressed.
Constant and permanent deployment
The Chief of the Ceofanb has ratified that the troops of the FANB remain deployed in the different states of the national territory, in the combat of Tancol groups; as well as gangs dedicated to illegal mining, extortion, and illegal takeovers of strategic facilities.
On this he has emphasized: “Venezuela is a territory of peace, law and justice. Armed groups that threaten social peace will not be tolerated.
