FANB regrets death of trainee pilot for July 5

This Sunday, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) mourned the death of pilot Colonel Paulino José Millán Sabino when the plane crashed to the ground Sukhoi 30 Mk2, in the Maitana sector, Paracotos parish, Guaicaipuro municipality of Miranda state, in the midst of practices for the commemorative acts of next July 5.

“We are greatly saddened by the irreparable loss of a brave military professional, who offered his life serving the nation,” said the FANB statement published through its account on the social network Twitter.

The document details that the Sukhoi 30 Mk2 aircraft acronym 3363, belonging to the Bolivarian Military Aviation, crashed to the ground while making an air ticket during the practice of the commemorative parade on July 5.

“The aircraft was piloted by Colonel Paulino José Millán Sabino and Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Luis Hernández Gómez; both crew members managing to eject, however, unfortunately Col. Paulino José Millán Sabino died when he fell to the ground,” the statement said.

Given the unfortunate event, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the “distinguished pilot Col. Paulino José Millán Sabino”, who died during practice maneuvers on the occasion of the commemorative acts of July 5.

“I am sorry to inform you that during the practice maneuvers for the commemorative acts of our independence, an aircraft from our Bolivarian Military Aviation crashed to the ground, causing the physical loss of the distinguished pilot Col. Paulino José Millán Sabino, my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and our FANB”, said the Head of State on the social network.

Minutes before, the Head of State had reported on the condition of co-pilot Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Hernández, who “remains alive and is being treated by health specialists from our glorious FANB.”

“We are very pending and I ordered the attention and detailed follow-up of this unfortunate event,” said President Maduro.
