Fanb dismantles illegal mining logistics in the state of Amazonas

Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) detected equipment intended for illegal mining in the Sabana Grande sector, Atabapo municipality, in the state of Amazonas.

The Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported through his Instagram account that the discovery occurred during patrol and scrutiny work in the border area.

During the military deployment, 600 liters of gasoline, three 13 HP motor pumps, one 2.5 HP motor pump, 150 meters of three-inch high-pressure hose, four PVC pipes and a mining snail were seized.

The military corps proceeded to incinerate all the materials to serve as logistical support for environmental depredation, an activity prohibited by the Venezuelan State according to the Environmental Criminal Law.

The authorities confirmed that this procedure is part of the actions to guarantee security, national defense and compliance with the current legal system.
