FANB dismantles illegal mining camps in Amazonas and Bolívar

staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) dismantled camps dedicated to illegal mining in the Yapacana National Park, located in the state of Amazonas, and another in La Paragua, in Bolívar, the Chief of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported on Thursday.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Hernández Lárez explained that in the Amazonas camp they found and seized “4 motorcycle bombs, 2 turbines for water projection, 600 meters of high-pressure hose, 180 liters of gasoline, 2 tames and other logistics materials.

«In the Yapacana National Park #FANB dismantles illegal mining camp with 4 motorcycle pumps, 2 turbines for water projection, 600 meters of high-pressure hose, 180 liters of gasoline, 2 tames and other logistical materials,” the Chief of Ceofanb posted on Twitter.

During the procedure, the FANB disabled an “environmentally predatory mining raft with its logistical accessories, for being in an area protected by the State.”

In Bolívar: zero illegal mining

Hernández Lárez indicated that the illegal mining camp in La Paragua, Bolívar state, was dismantled “for disrespecting the territorial legal order and destroying the environment in areas protected by the State.”

Likewise, the Chief of Ceofanb reported on a procedure in the Caura National Park, during which all structures used by armed illegal mining groups that “predator the environment and ecosystems protected by the State” were eliminated, he said.

FANB committed to the environment

The head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, stressed that “the objectives of the Security and Defense Plans are: Protect and conserve natural resources as well as the existing natural environment, in addition to repairing the damage and reversing the trends generated by illegal mining ».

In this sense, it guaranteed the permanent deployment of the FANB in ​​the different states of the national territory.
