The FANB remains deployed in Amazonas carrying out Security and Defense missions against organized crime groups that intend to practice illegal mining in National Parks and Forest Reserves.
«# FANB deployed in Amazon in Security and Defense missions, exercising sovereignty against criminal groups that practice illegal mining in National Parks, Forest Reserves and State Security Areas. Violation of the Legal System will not be allowed,” said Hernández Lárez.
Active in Yapacana Park
Given the frequent practices of illegal mining, the FANB is active in the National Park yapacanain Amazonas, where they have destroyed and disabled machinery and support means to commit these actions against the environment.
“#FANB deployed in the Yapacana National Park – Amazonas, destroying and disabling illegal mining machinery and means of support that are buried by armed criminal groups to avoid their location.
In these operations, the military troops located and dismantled an illegal mining camp with 27 motorized pumps, 10 power plants, 6 turbines, 5,000 meters of hose, 4,000 liters of diesel, 2 sieves and other illegal mining supplies, Hernández Lárez explained.
Due to the presence of irregular groups in the Yapacana National Park, the FANB continues to carry out work to “dismantle illegal mining facilities in places protected by the State.”
In this sense, the Chief of Ceofanb confirmed that security and defense operations will be maintained in the Guayana region.
FANB against illegal mining
The security missions carried out by the FANB will continue to defend sovereignty and to eliminate any activity that threatens the ecosystem.
In this sense, the Chief of the Ceofanb ratified that “armed groups that are located preying on nature in our National Territory will be combated. Venezuela is a State of Law and Justice”.
“We will not allow the uncontrolled exploitation of our nature in National Parks, which threatens National Security and Defense,” he stressed.
