Continuing with the Catatumbo Lightning Operation 2023, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) dismantled and destroyed a camp belonging to the group of Armed Terrorists Drug Traffickers of Colombia (Tancol), used for the processing of Cocaine Hydrochloride.
The information was released by the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez. The head of Ceofanb specified, through his account on the social network Twitter, that this operation is carried out in compliance with the order of President Nicolás Maduro to eliminate from the national territory all irregular groups that commit drug trafficking actions.
With the Catatumbo Lightning Operation 2023, “the in situ incineration of drugs, chemicals and logistical material” was carried out, he said.
“Fulfilling the order of the CJ @NicolasMaduro, in Operation “Lightning of Catatumbo 2023″ @GNB_antidrogas1 of the #FANB dismantles and destroys the #TANCOL Camp for the processing of Cocaine Hydrochloride, executing the in situ incineration of drugs, chemicals and logistical material”, published the Chief of the Ceofanb.
The FANB remains deployed in Zulia state, with the aim of eliminating all practices or structures used by irregular groups for drug trafficking.
Fight against the Tancol groups
As will be recalled, in December 2021 the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to combat criminal groups and release all the border spaces of the country of the bands called “TANCOL”.
“All the Tancol, whatever they are called, wherever they are, are enemies of the Constitution, the FANB and the peace of the Republic and must be fought in the territory with all the military force of our country,” said the first president at that time.
This is how the FANB remains deployed in the border areas executing actions against the group Terroristas Armados Narcotraficantes de Colombia.
FANB in Bolívar and Amazonas
Likewise, the Chief of Ceofanb indicated in another message on the social network that the military personnel are deployed in Bolívar and Amazonas states, in order to protect and defend ecosystems.
“#FANB deployed in Bolívar and Amazonas states, in tasks of environmental protection, security and defense, dismantling camps that arbitrarily disrespect territorial planning, contaminate the environment and the ecosystem”, it published.
Given the illegal mining practices, since the beginning of this year 2023, the Venezuelan military forces have carried out the Autana and Roraima operations, aimed at confronting illegal activities that violate protected environmental zones in the south and southeast of the country.
