The action was carried out in the Bulla Loca sector, Atabapo municipality, with URRA Mixed teams; engines, fuel and extraction tools were seized
The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) detected and dismantled an illegal mining camp in the state of Amazonas, as part of Operation Neblina 2025.
The procedure was carried out this Monday in the Atabapo municipality, in an area surrounding the Carida indigenous community, through area and zone patrolling with URRA Mixed Combat units.
The commander of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, shared the details of the operation on his social networks.
Location and tactical deployment
The action was carried out at the coordinates 03°38’06.95” N / 66°53’37.25” W, within the Strategic Comprehensive Defense Region (REDI) No. 6 Guayana.
The Mixed URRA units carried out patrols in the Bulla Loca mine sector, where a camp hidden among the vegetation was detected.
The operation included ground inspection, aerial reconnaissance and controlled destruction of materials, in compliance with the protocols established by the Fanb.
Seized material
During the operation the following items were seized:
- 1 improvised mining camp
- 200 liters of gasoline
- 6 13 HP water suction motors
- 4 mining snails
- 4 rugs used as a sieve
- 50 meters of 4” high pressure hose
- 4 meters of 4” PVC pipe
- 1 meter of 4” maraca-type hose
- 4 belts for mining engines
These materials were destined for illegal extraction activities that seriously affect the Amazon ecosystems.
Commander Hernández Lárez recalled that, according to article 127 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (CRBV), it is the obligation of the State to guarantee an environment free of contamination of air, water, soil, climate, the ozone layer and living species.
The procedure was notified to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal actions.
