The strategic operational commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported through social networks that military personnel carried out the destruction of an explosives manufacturing camp in the state of Zulia.
Likewise, he indicated that this procedure was carried out “within the framework of Operation Fragmentary Order No. 01-26 Catatumbo, to O/O Relámpago del Catatumbo, in REDI No. 1 ‘Occidental’, Zulia state.”
In that sense, he explained that the success of the operation was achieved through intelligence work, information processing and constant patrolling. The deployment, carried out by a Rapid Reaction Unit (URRA), took place in the Kilometer 9 sector of the Jesús María Semprún municipality.
During the actions of the Fanb, the following artifacts of criminalistic interest were found:
- Thirteen (13) explosive detonators.
- Thirty-five (35) parts of gas cylinders.
- Seven (07) garments belonging to TANCOL groups.
- Two (02) point-to-point radio chargers.
- Twenty (20) 5.56×57 mm cartridges.
- Three (03) bracelets belonging to TANCOL groups.
- Three (03) camouflage ponchos.
Hernández Lara reported that the operation was placed at the command of the Public Ministry to carry out the pertinent investigations.
