Cash of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) arrested a citizen in the state of Táchira for smuggling cedar during the closed season, with which he is guilty of an environmental crime.
The information was released by the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, who, through his Twitter social network account, specified that “the subject violating the law” was “was smuggling cedar during closed season, hidden inside a sand truck”, for which he was arrested by the FANB.
The cedar comes from the Cedrela odorata species and is an emblematic tree of the Barinas state, in Venezuela.
«In the state of Táchira, a subject who violated the law was arrested, smuggling Cedro during the closed season, hidden inside a sand truck. The protection of the environment is a strategic objective and must be preserved for the enjoyment of future generations”, he indicated.
Security and Defense Program
Hernández Lárez explained that the FANB protects and defends environmental rights, in this sense, he explained that with the Security and Defense program, permanent surveillance of territorial integrity and Forest Reserves is maintained.
“The Security and Defense program is of a permanent nature and will guarantee the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic within the scope of the Forest Reserves, framed within the National Security and Defense Plan,” states the publication on Twitter.
Given these actions that threaten the environment, the Head of Ceofanb stressed that the Bolivarian National Armed Force complies with the law and carries out missions to safeguard the country’s natural resources.

This Friday, the Head of Ceofanb reported that, as part of the protection of the environment, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Force stopped in flagrante delicto 11 armed subjects, who were destroying the Forest Reserve while practicing the mining illegal, in Bolívar state.
The information was released by the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, who detailed on his Twitter account that the 11 citizens were “heavily armed” and were detained in flagrante delicto.
In this regard, he stressed that the FANB will not allow the exploitation of resources arbitrarily by organizations that are outside the law.
“#FANB will protect harmony in our geographic space. The exploitation of resources arbitrarily by organizations outside the law will not be allowed. In Bolívar, 11 heavily armed individuals are detained in flagrante delicto destroying the Forest Reserve,” the post on Twitter reported.
FANB guarantees environmental rights
The FANB remains deployed throughout the country, with the purpose of safeguarding territorial planning and guaranteeing sovereignty and environmental rights within the Forest Reserves.
