The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) arrested five Venezuelans and a Colombian who practiced illegal mining in the Amazonas state.
The information was known by G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, the FANB Operational Strategic Commander, through its social networks, where he said that the capture was carried out during a land patrol through the areas adjacent to the indigenous community De Carida, Tabapo municipality, specifically for the Mata de Palma sector.
He explained that the subjects were identified as: José Mosquera Espinel (56); Miguel Cedeño Martinez (44); Neomar Cedeño Pérez (18); Robert Flores Pérez (31); Josmar Cipriano Prieto Blanco (48), and William Appearance Benaventa (54).
During the arrest the officials seized 2 motobombs, 2 tamen carpets used for the collection of atriferous material; 10 meters of 8 -inch hose; 1 16 mm caliber shotgun, without visible serials; 1 Forte 2500 brand power plant.
“Which is used in illegal mining activities and works, of devastation and destruction of the environment,” Hernández emphasized.
He assured that this case was notified to the Public Ministry (MP). “No human group may be above the interests of the State, it is a duty and a right to conservation of the natural environment,” concluded Hernández.
