“FAN seizes 5,400 kg of cocaine impregnated in three wooden boxes, during a parcel inspection at the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetia that was destined for the Netherlands. The procedure was placed at the order of the Public Ministry, “said the military on Twitter.
Hernàndez Lárez said that the seizure occurred as part of the Bolivarian Shield operation.

On March 6, the FAN reported the seizure of a fishing vessel with 1,753 kilograms of cocaine east of the island of Barbados and eight detainees were reported.
Likewise, the FAN reported, on April 15, that in the Caño Grande sector of the Yapacana National Park, Amazonas state, it dismantled and destroyed a logistics system for illegal mining exploitation “belonging to criminal groups that disrespect Venezuelan territorial ordering.”
The military organization, as announced by its commanders, maintains environmental protection missions fighting against illegal mining in State security areas.
The FAN reports that its forces and resources are deployed in the Guyana Region «protecting the environment, biological diversity, resources, ecological processes, national parks and natural monuments and other areas of special ecological importance”.
For his part, the Minister of the Interior and Justice, retired admiral Remigio Ceballos Ichasoreported this Sunday afternoon that the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) in Nueva Esparta “gave a hard blow to drug trafficking.”
