The head of the Strategic Operational Command of the National Armed Forces (Ceofan), Domingo Hernández Lárez, reported that a “hostile” plane associated with drug trafficking in Apure state was disabled.
The information was released through his account on the social network Twitterin the afternoon of Tuesday, March 28.
“In the Pedro Camejo municipality of Apure state, (the) FAN disables unidentified hostile aircraft associated with drug trafficking,” said the official on his Twitter account, where he shared a video of the operation showing the plane.
Hernández Lárez indicated that the aircraft, the eleventh disabled so far in 2023, violated Venezuelan airspace, lacked a flight plan and had the transmitter disconnected.
This is the second plane in less than a week that according to the FAN is “disabled” for violating Venezuelan airspace. On March 26, Hernández Lárez reported that officials of the military corps disabled a supposed “invader plane”.
“Invader plane, without identification code or flight plan, with transponder (position transmitter) disconnected, enters the national airspace (Alta Guajira) at low altitude, being intercepted, ordered to land and disabled by the Venezuelan aerospace system”, the official wrote in a publication that he shared along with a video published on his social networks.
