This Wednesday, January 18, the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Armed Forces (Ceofan), General in Chief Domingo Hernandez Larez, gave an account of the arrest of “two subjects in Bolívar state for trafficking war material.”

In this regard, the soldier stressed that only the State can possess and use weapons and ammunition of war. The new report comes one day after the FAN reported the arrest of five people linked to two criminal organizations dedicated to illegal mining, robbery and extortion, also in Bolívar.
On January 17, the FAN said that three people linked to the “Tren de Guayana” organization were arrested. During the operation, 59 “high explosive” packages, 11 rolls of detonating cord and 11 electric detonators were seized.
The Chief of Ceofan ratified that the military organization continues to dismantle illegal mining structures installed in national parks and forest reserves protected by the State, “which disrespect territorial ordering and degrade the environment.”
At the same time, Hernández Lárez pointed out that the FAN continues to be deployed in tasks of security patrols and reconnaissance of areas on the border limits of Apure state, “guaranteeing national sovereignty.”
On January 17, the Higher State of the FAN, headed by Minister Vladimir Padrino López, met in Fuerte Tiuna to start the debate and draw up the agenda of “issues related to military integration”, in attention to the 7 lines of work ordered by the ruler Nicolás Maduro for this year 2023.
